Yesterday morning the temperature at our Midway weather station was
-25 F. Today, it has warmed up to -1 F. We are back to winter in Colorado instead of winter in the Arctic. Trying to convince people that yesterday was a joyous winter experience was like putting lipstick on a pig. The pig doesn't look any better and you just look foolish for trying. It was hard to say yesterday was nice. Today is another story. We should see temperatures in the teens with maybe an inch or two of snow by tomorrow morning. The sliding surface out there is still in great shape. You should make it out today. Don't let those Chicago storm pictures or Colorado valley bottom air temperatures scare you away today. At my house down valley it was 28 degrees colder than it is at the ski area this morning. Warm yourself up and come to The Basin.
On another note, I usually check the webcams from home when I first wake up. We get some really cool sunrise photos between 6 and 7 AM.
